Daniel Oluwatobi, known professionally as db Cxptures, is an award-wnning photographer and videographer celebrated for his compelling visual storytelling and distinctive artistic vision. db Cxptures represents an honest and raw look at stories actualised by my photography art form. It reflects myself and gives the world an opportunity to step into my unique perspective, experiencing the heart, thoughtfulness and creativity that goes into everything that I do.

Daniel also has a unique story, he was born with a condition called Nystagmus, which renders him partially sighted. However, his condition has not stopped him from producing work that transcends conventional boundaries, blending innovative techniques with a keen eye for detail to produce visually striking and emotionally resonant imagery. His collaborations with renowned artists have not only showcased his talent but also solidified his reputation as a leading figure in the visual arts. Daniel’s commitment to his craft and his unique perspective continue to inspire and influence the world of photography.

 

Question 1: Who would you say is someone pivotal to your journey so far?

My close friends and family are integral to where I am today. They have been with me every step of the way, from my struggles with mental health, to celebrate all the awards and accolades. I am not who I am without them by my side.

Question 2: Who would be your ideal mentor, and why?

British Photographer, John Rankin. He is an inspiration to the arts field and I am a huge fan of is work and the way he tells stories through photography.

 

Question 3: What advice would you give the next Trailblazer looking to break into your field?

Be who you truly are in every chapter of the journey. Authenticity is an underrated factor sometimes, but it is so vital. I endeavour to stay true to who I am and my purpose, no matter what.
